This week the app developer in the spotlight is.....
The Speech and Language Store!

They make apps for speech therapy designed by SLPs! They are the ones who created Splingo’s Language Universe!

They have a new app called Actions with Splingo!

Action words are an important part of a child’s vocabulary as they are essential in most sentences. This app has 3 levels to suit a variety of needs.
Easy: blow, brush, clap, eat, drink and many more
Medium: bite, carry, cut, read, swim and many more
Hard: bake, chew, count, drop, hold and many more

Their most famous app is Splingo’s Language Universe!

This app targets listening and language skills. The student interacts with images and animations on the screen to follow Splingo the alien’s spoken instructions. As a reward, the students get to help Splingo build a space ship and complete the tasks in order to get him home. I just heard they are also about to do a big update to this app!

This app has 4 levels to tailor to your student’s needs.
•Level 1 -contains instructions of 1 main word and is suitable for children at a developmental level of about 18 months onwards, e.g. “find the apple”
•Level 2 - contains instructions of 2 main words and is suitable for children at a developmental level of about 2-3 years, e.g. “find the red apple”
•Level 3 - contains instructions of 3 main words and is suitable for children at a developmental level of about 3- 4 years and upwards, e.g. “find the big red apple”
•Level 4 - contains instructions of 4 main words and is suitable for children at a developmental level of about 4 years and upwards, e.g. “give the big red apple to the boy”

The Speech and Language Store also has other apps targeting pronouns and categories. They also have an informal assessment tool for receptive language! Check them out!

The Speech and Language Store has generously donated a copy of each app to giveaway! All you have to to do it like and share the original Panda Speech Facebook post to be entered! This contest closes Friday 5/29/2015 at midnight! CLICK HERE to return to
